Nikon
Super Coolscan 4000 and 5000 ED scanners for slide and film scanning.
They deliver up to 4,000 ppi scans and are amazing machines with superior
quality. We use Digital ICE without extra charge on all images to
remove dust and scratches.

Epson
V-750 Pro as well as Epson
4870 Pro flatbed scanners for prints/photo scans as well as odd-sized
transparencies. Also here we use Digital ICE to remove dust and
scratches, if requested. They deliver up to 6,400 ppi in optical resolution and can handle large transparencies as well.

Wet
Mount Scanning is being performed on the Epson V-750 Pro with Aztek Scanner
+ Graphic Arts Film Mylar Overlay and Kami Scanner Mounting Fluid.

Files
are being kept as uncompressed TIFF files throughout the entire process for
highest quality. Only in the last step do we convert them to JPEG files.

Files
are being delivered as 24 bit files (8 bit each for red, green, blue) but we can scan them at higher settings as well.

Software
work is done in Photoshop CS3 on calibrated 21"monitors in
dual-monitor set-ups.

The
steps and plug-ins we use in Photoshop are proprietary - we don't want to
make it too easy for the competition. The basic improvements include
to lighten up dark areas, tonal range adjustments, color adjustments, and
sharpening.

We
use Wacom tablets for detail work.

The
data is backed-up on a daily basis and the finished deliverables are being
kept on the server for about 1 year before we delete them.

that all of your original images and digital images will remain under your
copyrighted ownership
throughout the process.
